FARIDPUR, Oct 26, 2025 (BSS) - A person was killed and another injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Khulna highway here in the district this evening.

The deceased was identified as Mosaddeq Ahmed Bashir, 40, a resident of Momin Kharhat area under Faridpur Sadar upazila. 

Mosaddeq was a lawyer at the Faridpur District Judges' Court and also served as an Additional Government Pleader (AGP). He was a local Jamaat-e-Islami leader.

His assistant, Md Mojibur Rahman, sustained injuries in the accident.

President of the Faridpur District Bar Association Advocate Lutfor Rahman Pilu said the accident occurred around 6:30 pm at Badarpur area under Sadar upazila when a speeding truck hit the motorcycle carrying the lawyer and his assistant.

Locals rescued them and took them to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared Mosaddeq Ahmed dead.
