Two drug traders held in Chattogram

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 27, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Bangladesh Army and the police apprehended two drug dealers in separate joint operations at Anwara upazila of the district last night.

During the operations, 1,188 yaba pills, chemicals used for brewing alcohol, and cash intended for selling yaba were seized from their possessions. 
 
An operation team from Anwara Army Camp conducted a raid in cooperation with the police and locals in the Amanullah Para area of Bairag Union in the upazila and arrested drug dealer Ershadul Alam.
 
A total of 188 yaba pills, chemicals for brewing alcohol, and cash amounting to Tk 9,650 were recovered from the first suspect. 

Later that day, another operation was carried out in the Battali Bazar area of the upazila around 10:30 pm, resulting in the arrest of another drug dealer named Kamruzzaman. The army seized 1,000 yaba pills from his possession.
 
The detainees were handed over to Anwara police station for further legal proceedings, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station Md. Monir Hossain. 

The detainees were produced before the court today, he said.
