Indian smuggled goods worth Tk 1 cr seized in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate drives seized Indian smuggled goods worth about Taka 1.5 crore from different border areas of Adarsh Sadar and Brahmanpara upazilas in Cumilla district and Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria district early this morning.

Sultanpur BGB-60 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Ziaur Rahman confirmed the matter.

The seized goods include Indian mobile phone displays worth about Taka 79 lakh 52 thousand and Indian food items worth Taka 25 lakh 48 thousand.
 
He said that the BGB is maintaining strict vigil to prevent smuggling of illegal goods in the border area. Regular drives will continue to ensure border security and stop illegal trade.
 
The seized goods will be handed over to the relevant customs authorities after completion of legal proceedings.
