SATKHIRA, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized Indian goods and narcotics valued around Taka 21 crore during anti-smuggling and anti-drug operations in Satkhira Sadar and Kalaroa border areas over the past three months.
According to the BGB's Satkhira Battalion (33 BGB), operations conducted between August 1 and October 31 led to the confiscation of items including motorcycles, clothing, cosmetics, medicines, and narcotics such as heroin, yaba, marijuana, phensidyl, and other drugs.
Twelve smugglers and drug dealers were arrested during the crackdown.
Lt. Col. Ashraful Haque, commander of the 33 BGB, said the seized goods were smuggled from India to evade customs duties, and that the zero-tolerance policy on drugs has significantly reduced cross-border drug trafficking.
The arrested individuals have been handed over to local police stations, with cases filed with Satkhira Sadar and Kalaroa Police Stations.
Narcotics have been stored for public destruction, and Indian goods have been deposited at Satkhira Customs after completing legal procedures.
