Modern lab inaugurated at CMCH

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS) - A newly established modern laboratory at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) was inaugurated today by Shahjahan Chowdhury, central working committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament, along with Brigadier Taslim Uddin, Director of Chattogram Medical College.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Shahjahan Chowdhury highlighted the difficulties faced by ordinary people during the fallen Hasina regime, citing corruption, syndicates, and mismanagement in the health sector that had deprived citizens of fair medical services.

He stressed the importance of ensuring equal and affordable healthcare for all and noted that efforts are underway to modernize medical departments with advanced machinery, laboratories and essential equipment.

Chowdhury added the initiative seeks to make the healthcare system corruption-free, service-oriented and humane, contributing to overall public health improvement and the establishment of a just society.

According to hospital sources, the new laboratory was built at a cost of Tk 8 crore.
