Firearms, drugs seized in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive recovered two foreign made pistols, two magazines, two bullets and 12 kg of marijuana from Dhanpur Math area in Sadar Dakshin upazila early this morning.

On a tip-off, a special patrol team of BGB led by Jashpur BOP Commander Naib Subedar Md. Mahbubur Rahman conducted a drive in the area around 3:30 am and recovered the weapons and drugs in an abandoned condition, said a BGB press release.

BGB is conducting regular operations to prevent weapons, drugs and any kind of smuggling in the border areas. Patrol activities and intelligence surveillance have been further strengthened to stop cross-border crimes, protect the border and prevent smuggling of illegal goods, the press release added.
