One held with hemp, yaba in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) -The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in a drive arrested a man with 56 kg of hemp and 142 pieces of yaba tablets from Nashipur village under Sadar upazila here last night.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the DNC led by Inspector Md Abdur Rahman raided the house of Md Pashir Uddin, 58, son of Sohrab Ali, around 11 pm and seized 56 kilograms of hemp and 142 pieces of yaba tablets, said Deputy Director of the department Md Rakibuzzaman.

The market value of the seized drugs is estimated at about Taka 17 lakh, he added.

A case has been filed with Kotwali Police Station in this regard.

Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Inspector Md Nuruzzaman said the arrestee will be produced before the court today.
