DHAKA, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has called upon the nation to observe National Revolution and Solidarity Day on November 7 with due respect and significance.

In a statement issued today, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said the day holds profound importance in the history of Bangladesh. “On this day in 1975, freedom-loving people took to the streets, pledging to safeguard the country’s independence and sovereignty and to resist all conspiracies against the nation,” he said.

He recalled that on November 3, 1975, a counter-coup led by Major General Khaled Mosharraf aimed to restore the Awami League to power, but patriotic soldiers and the masses united under the slogan ‘Nara-e-Takbir, Allahu Akbar’ to foil the conspiracy and protect the country’s independence and sovereignty.

“The observance of November 7 this year comes at a time when the nation again faces a deep crisis,” Jamaat Ameer said, warning that multiple conspiracies are underway to reintroduce fascism in the country.

“If anti-national conspiracies succeed, the country will fall into grave danger,” he added.

He urged all patriotic citizens, students, political parties, and institutions — including the government and the armed forces — to work together in protecting national sovereignty and unity.

“I call upon all wings of Jamaat and the patriotic people of the country to observe November 7, National Revolution and Solidarity Day, with due respect and a renewed pledge to safeguard Bangladesh’s independence and sovereignty,” he said.
