RANGAMATI, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today carried out a raid at the Barkal Upazila Health Complex in the district following allegations of corruption and irregularities.

The operation was led jointly by Rangamati ACC Assistant Directors Ahmed Forhad Hossen and Md. Raju Ahmed.

"The raid was conducted based on specific allegations and evidence of irregularities was found," said Ahmed Forhad Hossen.

He added that during the raid, several duty doctors and officials were found absent at the health complex.

"Some other irregularities were also detected. Necessary legal actions will be taken against those involved after a detailed investigation," he said.

Resident physician Dr. Ziku Shil acknowledged the problems, citing an acute manpower crisis at the facility. "Only one doctor out of 17 is currently on duty here," he said.

In addition, the ACC team also conducted separate drives at the Jagannathchhara Health and Family Welfare Center in Aimachhara and the Bhusanchara Health and Family Welfare Center, where irregularities were also found.
