DHAKA, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS)-Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim got the reward
for his consistent performance in the T20 format despite his side suffering a
whitewash against the West Indies of late.
The opener hit consecutive half-centuries -a 48 ball-61 in the second match
and a career-best 62 ball-89 in the third game-which helped him leapfrog 20
spots to reach 17th position amongst the batters in the latest ICC rankings,
released today. In the process, he achieved his career-best 636 rating
points.
While Tanzid showed a remarkable progress, the other batters cut a forlorn
figure. Saif Hassan slipped nine places to 29th, while Liton Das remained
steady at 44th. Parvez Hossain Emon and Jaker Ali Anik also dropped slightly
in the rankings, led by India's Abhishek Sharma.
Bangladesh offspinner Mahedi Hasan climbed six places to seat at 18th, and
Tanzim Hasan Sakib rose three spots to 34th.
But pacer Mustafizur Rahman dropped to 12th, Rishad Hossain to 26th, and
Taskin Ahmed to 40th.
