They highlighted that modern imaging technology has significantly improved this accuracy, enabling doctors to create precise reports and analyses. This, in turn, helps in determining the most effective treatment plan, ultimately saving patients' lives.
Experts and medical professionals shared these insights while conducting the discussion held at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) to mark International Radiology Day, also known as World Radiography Day.
Principal of Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Professor Dr. Jasim Uddin addressed the event as the chief guest with Associate Prof Dr. Kazi Md. Alam, head of the Department of Radiology and Imaging at CMCH, in the chair.
CMCH Director Brigadier General Md. Taslim Uddin, Prof Dr. Anisul Mawla, director of Chevron Laboratories, renowned radiologists Dr. Ehsan Sobhan Chowdhury and Dr. Didarul Alam and others participated in the discussion
meeting.
The speakers stressed that imaging technology has evolved beyond being just a diagnostic tool and is now an essential component of treatment.
Accurate reports from MRI, CT scans, ultrasounds, and digital X-rays serve as reliable guides for doctors.
They highlighted the lack of advanced imaging equipment in many government and private hospitals, leading to delays in disease diagnosis.
They stressed the importance of equipping all hospitals with updated technology and providing regular training for radiographers.
Additionally, scientific papers were presented by radiographers during the event, which also featured discussion meetings, a colorful rally and concluded with a campus tour.
