Eight shops gutted in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ, Nov 8, 025 (BSS) - Eight shops were gutted in a fire at Daskandi Bazar of Madhya Bausia under Gazaria upazila of the district early morning.

 Police said the fire broke out around 4.30 am today and gutted eight shops in the market, including a hotel, restaurant, medicine shop and tea shop.

 Being informed, two units of the fire service rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after half an hour of effort.

 Md. Firoz Mia, Station Officer of Gazaria Fire Service and Civil Defense, said “it is initially suspected that the fire originated from an electrical short circuit.”

 Shahidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Gazaria Police Station, confirmed the matter.
