BAGERHAT, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Coast Guard this morning recovered the body of a missing tourist from the Mongla Silo Jetty area, three days after a boat capsized in the Sundarbans.

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq confirmed the recovery at 10am today.

Earlier, a net boat carrying 14 tourists capsized in the area adjacent to Dhangmari Canal in the Sundarbans on November 8 after losing control due to strong currents. Thirteen tourists were rescued alive with the help of a local boat, but one person remained missing.

Upon being informed, two rescue teams from Coast Guard Base Mongla and Station Harbaria quickly reached the spot and started the search operation.

After three days of continuous search, the Coast Guard recovered the body of the missing tourist floating in the area adjacent to the Mongla Silo Jetty at 7:00 am today.

The recovered body was later handed over to Chandpai Naval Police Outpost for further legal procedure.
