Two killed in Gopalganj road crash

GOPALGANJ, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS) - Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident in Gandhiashur area of Sadar upazila here last night.

The deceased were identified as Saroj Bhattacharya, 60, son of Satish Chandra Bhattacharya of Dalnia village in Majhigati union of Sadar upazila and Bijoy Biswas, 22, son of Trinath Biswas of the same village.

The accident occurred on the Gopalganj-Tekerhat highway around 10.30 pm when a motorcycle hit a standing truck beside the road as its rider lost control of the bike, leaving bike rider Bijoy dead on the spot and its pillion Saroj injured, said Inspector of Baultali police outpost in Gopalganj Sadar upazila Afzal Hossain.

Later, locals rescued Saroj and took him to a local clinic where the doctor on duty declared him dead. 

After completing the legal process, the body was handed over to the family members.
