3 drug peddlers held with huge drugs in Bogura

BOGURA, Nov 13, 2025 (BSS) - A joint team of the Bangladesh Army and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three alleged drug peddlers along with a huge quantity of drugs during a drive in the Chaksutrapur area of the district town.

The operation began on Wednesday evening and continued until Thursday morning, said Firoz Ahmed, Company Commander of RAB-12, Bogura, while briefing reporters around 10:30 am on Thursday.

During the drive, the team seized 178 bottles of country liquor (Carew), 43 bottles (21.5 litres) of local liquor, 45 kilograms of marijuana, 35 grams of heroin, and eight pieces of yaba tablets.

The operation targeted the Chaksutrapur Kasaipara Colony area, where nearly 100 houses were searched from 8 pm on Wednesday until 10:15 am on Thursday.

In addition to the drugs, law enforcement personnel recovered 18 digital weighing scales used in drug trading, three chapatis, one Burmese knife, three mobile phones, and Taka 1,43,420 in cash.

RAB officials said legal action is underway against the detainees.
