Ex-panel mayor held in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Nov 13, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested the former Panel Mayor, also 
the woman councilor of Manikganj Pourasabha (reserve seat of ward no 7,8 and 
9) last night from her residence of Beutha Road in the district town.

The arrested panel mayor Jesmin Akter was more than one time elected as a 
woman councilor during the Awami League regime.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manikganj Sadar Police Station Md Kamal Hossain 
confirmed the matter.

Police arrested Jesmin Akter from her residence at 11.30pm, he added.
