Two madrasa students killed in Mirsarai road accident

CHATTOGRAM NORTH (Hathazari), Nov 15, 2025 (BSS) - Two madrasa students were killed and two others injured when a motorcycle crashed into them at Mirsarai upazila in the district on Friday evening.

The deceased were identified as Fakhrul Islam, 14, a 7th grader and son of Dulal Mia of Hatia in Noakhali, and Kawsar Hossain, 11, a 5th grader and son of Abdul Kader of Baraiyarhat in Mirsarai.

The accident took place at Chhararkul area on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway's Dhaka-bound lane.

The injured-Arman, a 7th grader of the same madrasa, and Moslim Uddin-were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for treatment.

Local sources said the four madrasa students were walking to attend a waz mahfil at Kazirhat area under Mayani union when a speeding motorcycle was struck from behind by another vehicle. 

Losing control, the motorcycle rammed into the students standing by the roadside, killing two on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Zakir Rabbani of Kumira Highway Police Station confirmed the incident, adding that the motorcyclist has been detained. 

The bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their families upon completion of legal formalities, he said.
