Cigarettes, banned beauty creams seized from passenger at Ctg airport

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) - Customs officials, along with the NSI and Customs Intelligence, seized foreign cigarettes and banned beauty creams from a passenger arriving from Dubai at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport.

Customs sources confirmed that authorities recovered 326 cartons of foreign cigarettes and 48 banned beauty creams, with an estimated value of approximately Tk 11.48 lakh. 

Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, Public Relations Officer of the airport, said the items were found during a search of a trolley bag belonging to Md. Rakibul Islam, who landed on US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-344 around 8:15 pm on Sunday.

Khalil added that the passenger, a first-time offender, was released after receiving a verbal warning and signing a bond.
