DHAKA, Nov 19, 2025 (BSS) - A truck driver was killed and his helper injured in a road accident in front of Rampur Samrat Factory on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway of the district today.

The deceased was Ripon Mia, 50, a truck driver. 

The accident occurred when a truck hit a covered van from behind, leaving truck driver Ripon Mia dead on the spot and his helper Kamal Hossain critically injured.

Mohipal Highway Police officer-in-charge Harun-or-Rashid confirmed the incident.

Police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital. However, the driver of the covered van managed to escape the scene with his vehicle.
