BNP-Jamaat-backed panel wins uncontested Jhenaidah Bar Association polls

JHENAIDAH, Nov 19, 2025 (BSS) - BNP-Jamaat-backed 'Lawyers Unity Council' has been elected uncontested to all the posts in Jhenaidah District Bar 
Association election.

The Election Commission officially announced the results at 5 pm today. Md 
Kazi Ekramul Haque was elected as the president and Md Shafiul Alam as the 
general secretary of the association.

In addition, Kazi Md Alauddin Haque Alo was elected as the vice-president, 
while ASM Rakib ul Hasan as the assistant general secretary, Md Ashraful 
Alam-2 as accountant, Md Panna Biswas as the literary, cultural and library, 
information and technology secretary, Md Anwarul Kabir as the sports and 
engineering secretary, and Md Morshed Imam as the religious and social 
secretary.

Those elected as members are: Md Mosharraf Hossain-2, Md Abu Taleb, Md Abu 
Tayeb, Md Masud Ur Rahman-2, Khan Md Anwarul Basar Swapan, Sabina Yasmin, 
Ihsan Ullah, Md Anwar Hossain-3 and Md Alauddin (Azad).

Meanwhile, Jhenaidah Press Club President Asif Kajal and General Secretary 
Aminul Islam Liton issued a statement congratulating the newly elected 
Jhenaidah District Bar Association President and General Secretary and 
others.
