GAIBANDHA, NOV 20, 2025 (BSS) - Fulchhari Thana police recovered a hanging body of a college student from the family toilet at Kanchipara village of Kanchipara union under Fulchhari upazila in the district on Wednesday.

 The victim has been identified as Riyad Miah, 23, son of Rahmat Ali, of the village. 

He is also an intermediate first-year student of Kanchipara College of the upazila. 

Family sources said Riyad had a love affair with a neighbor's girlfriend

On Tuesday night, Riyad was mass beaten while he went to his girlfriend's house to meet her. 
 
Then, the family members found his hanging body in the toilet and informed the police, who recovered the body from the toilet and sent it to Gaibandha General Hospital morgue for autopsy. 
    
Ripon, elder brother of the victim, said he might have committed suicide by hanging out of anger after being beaten up.

Sub Inspector of Fulchhari than Ruhul Amin said an investigation is underway to find out the clue to the suicide committed by the youth.
