126 ethnic minority youths get income-generating instruments in C'nawabganj

Rajshahi, Nov 20, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 126 ethnic minority youths received income-generating instruments after need-based training on various trades to make them self-reliant at Bhagrail Bazar under Nachole Upazila of Chapainawabganj districts today.

The programme was organised by Agriculture Sustainable and Socio-economic Development Organisation (ASSEDO) under its MUKTEE Project, supported by Traidcraft Exchange.

Tools and equipment were provided for trades including electrical work, hair cutting, tailoring, block boutique, and embroidery under this programme.

ASSEDO Executive Director Rabiul Alam said around 4,000 ethnic minority people, including 2,000 women, have benefited from income-generating activities in 30 villages Tanore Upazila in Rajshahi and Nachole Upazila in Chapainawabganj districts with the MUKTEE Project intervention.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Razia Sultana and other officials were present at the event.

Shafiqul Islam, Union Parishad chairman, said the project aims to improve livelihoods and help eliminate child labour among marginalized communities.
