Preparatory meeting on Victory Day celebration held in Khulna

KHULNA, Nov 20, 2025 (BSS) – A preparatory meeting to celebrate Victory Day 2025 with due dignity was held today at the conference room of the deputy commissioner in Khulna, with Deputy Commissioner A.S.M. Jamshed Khondkar in the chair.

The meeting informed that floral wreaths will be placed at the Gallamari Memorial at dawn on December 16.
The national flag of proper size and colour will be hoisted at all government, semi-government, autonomous, and private institutions and buildings.

Important roads and installations will be decorated and illuminated with national and coloured flags.
At 8:30 am, the Divisional Commissioner will formally hoist the national flag at Khulna District Stadium, followed by a ceremonial parade with the participation of various forces and students.

At 11:30 am, a reception will be accorded to valiant freedom fighters at the district Shilpakala Academy auditorium.
Improved meals will be served at government child homes, hospitals, orphanages, and prisons.

Special prayers and religious programmes will be offered in different religious institutions after Zohr prayers.
Discussions and various competitions, including essay and drawing contests, will be organised at educational institutions.

A victory fair will also be held at the stadium.

Another preparatory meeting was held at the same venue to observe Martyred Intellectuals Day on December 14.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bitan Kumar Mondal, valiant freedom fighters, government officials, teachers, and representatives of socio-cultural organisations attended the meeting.
