New Gaibandha DC vows people-friendly administration

GAIBANDHA, Nov 25, 2025 (BSS) - Newly joined Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Masudur Rahman Mollah today said a people-friendly administration would be strengthened to accelerate the overall development of the district.

"Initiatives will be taken to address the challenges that cause public suffering. Special emphasis will be given on health, education and communication sectors alongside creating employment opportunities for the youth. We aim to turn the district into a model one," he said.

DC Muhammad Masudur Rahman Mollah made the remarks while addressing a familiarization meeting with upazila-level officials, stakeholders, public representatives and local dignitaries at the Saghata Upazila Parishad auditorium at noon. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Jagatbandhu Mondal presided over the event.

Moderated by ADC (General) Jadob Sarker, the function was also addressed, among others, by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Gazi Muyeedur Rahman; Officer-in-Charge of Fulchhari Thana, Mazharul Islam; Upazila Agriculture Officer Mintu Miah; and Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Jahirul Islam.

Speakers highlighted various problems and challenges in the upazila and sought prompt interventions from the district administration to address them.

In his speech, the DC said the district and upazila administrations would stand by the people and take necessary actions to ease public suffering.

He described the upazila as a highly potential one and sought cooperation from all to help transform it into a model upazila.
