BOGURA, Nov 28, 2025 (BSS) - A two-day poet conference, featuring the 
participation of more than two hundred poets and literary figures, began here 
today.

The much-awaited two-day poet conference hosted by the Bogura Writers' Circle 
was inaugurated at 10 am at the Zila Parishad Auditorium by Bogura district 
BNP president and former mayor of the municipality Rezaul Karim Badsha.

Naogaon University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Md Hasanath Ali addressed the 
function as chief guest with Government Mojibur Rahman Bhandari Women's 
College Principal Dr Belal Hossain in the chair.
 
Bogura Writers' Circle president, poet Islam Rafique delivered the welcome 
speech at the event. The function was conducted by Alok Paul.

The distinguished guests former secretary and poet-essayist Aminul Islam, 
poet-essayist Bazlul Karim Bahar, Professor Muhammad Shahidullah, Taufiqul 
Alam Tipu and journalists Mohsin Ali Raju, Kalam Azad and MR Hasan Palash 
were present among others.

Before the inauguration, a colorful rally was brought out, marching along the 
main streets of the city. 

On the occasion of the conference, a mini book fair has also been set up in 
the Zila Parishad premises, where books and little magazines by national and 
local authors are available at stalls organised by the Bangla Academy and the 
Bogura Writers' Circle.
