JHENAIDAH, Dec 1, 2025 (BSS) - The government today distributed seeds and fertilizers among 2,500 farmers in Sadar upazila here under its agri-incentive program for the Rabi season of the 2025-26 fiscal year.

The distribution ceremony was held at 10 am on Monday at the Sadar Upazila Agriculture Office premises. 

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hosne Ara, Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Md. Nur A Nabi, Additional Agriculture Officer (Sadar) Junayed Habib and Sadar Agriculture Extension Officer Mir Rakibul Islam were present at the event.

According to the Agriculture Office, the initiative aims to boost the cultivation and production of high-yielding (Ufshi) and hybrid Boro rice varieties in the upcoming Rabi season. 

Of the beneficiaries, 2,000 farmers received 5 kg of Boro (Ufshi) rice seeds each, while 500 farmers were given 2 kg of hybrid rice seeds per person.

In addition to seeds, each farmer received 10 kg of MOP and 10 kg of DAP fertilizers. In total, the government distributed 11 tons of seeds and 40 tons of fertilizers free of cost.
