DHAKA, Dec 3, 2025 (BSS) - Two children, aged three and a half and one and a half years, were successfully rescued after being trapped inside a locked room in Khalasidangi Baburchar under Sadarpur Police Station on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident came to light when the children's guardian called the National Emergency Service hotline 999, reporting that the children were locked inside a room secured with a thick steel door that could not be broken open.

The trapped children were heard crying inside, prompting an urgent request for rescue assistance.

Constable Abu Jihad Sarkar, the 999 call receiver, immediately alerted the Sadarpur Fire Service Station. Firefighter Mehedi Hasan coordinated and supervised the rescue operation.

Responding swiftly, firefighters from the Sadarpur Fire Service arrived at the location and managed to rescue the children by breaking through the house's window.

Authorities confirmed that both children were safely rescued, and no injuries were reported.

The prompt coordination between emergency services and local responders ensured a successful rescue.
