PIROJPUR, Dec 15, 2025 (BSS) - A man was killed in a road accident in Dakatia area of Shakharikathi union under Nazirpur upazila of the district last night.

The deceased was Ratan Majumder, 50, son of late Rabindra Majumder of Jujkhola village of Sikder Mallik union of Pirojpur Sadar upazila.

The accident took place when a Dhaka-bound bus hit a Nasiman (locally made vehicle), leaving its driver Ratan dead on the spot. 

 Nazirpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Harun-or-Rashid Howlader said confirmed the matter.

Legal action is underway to identify the vehicle responsible for the accident, he added.
