RAJSHAHI, Jan 1, 2026 (BSS) - A young housewife this afternoon succumbed to her injuries while getting onto a train with the assistance of her husband at Rajshahi Railway Station here.

According to the sources concerned, the deceased has been identified as Rupa Khatun, 23, wife of Muhammad Anik hailed from Tittarkuri village under Durgapur upazila in the district.

Rony Saha, Sub-inspector of Police at Rajshahi Railway Police Station, said Rupa Khatun was trying to get onto a Dhaka bound Padma Express running train around 4pm. But she fell under the train as she lost her husband's support and sustained grievous injuries.

She was immediately rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the attending doctors declared her dead.
