BOGURA, Jan 2, 2025 (BSS) - A special prayer was held today in the district seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Organized by the Bogura District BNP as part of a central party programme, the event took place at the Baitur Rahman Central Mosque following the Jummah prayers.
The prayer and supplication were led by the mosque’s Khatib, Maulana Md Monowar Hossain.
The gathering was attended by a wide range of senior leaders and activists. Notable attendees included Advocate AKM Mahbubur Rahman, a member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council, former Member of Parliament Helaluzzaman Talukdar Lalu, and Md. Rezaul Karim Badsha, the President of Bogura District BNP. BNP National Executive Committee members VP Saiful Islam, Ali Azgar Talukdar Hena, Kazi Rafiqul Islam, and Zainal Abedin Chan were also present.
Among the local leaders District BNP’s Acting General Secretary and former MP Mosharraf Hossain, Adviser Prof. Dr. Shah Md. Shahjahan Ali, and former General Secretary Fazlul Bari Talukdar Belal joined the event.
Furthermore, Kalam Azad, the General Secretary of Bogura Press Club and coordinator of the BNP’s media cell for Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, was present alongside the leaders of various associate organizations.
The prayer session also saw significant participation from the heads of various associate organizations, including Juba Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Tanti Dal, Krishak Dal, and Chhatra Dal. Leaders from the Jatiyaotabadi Ainjibi Forum and student representatives from Government Azizul Haque College and Government Shah Sultan College also joined the congregation to offer their respects.
