Elderly man killed after being hit by train in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 2, 2026 (BSS) - A 60-year-old man was killed after being hit by a train on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar railway line in Lohagara upazila today.

The deceased was identified as Md Alamgir, son of late Kabir Ahmed and a resident of Ward No. 9 of Dakshin Rupkania under Lohagara Sadar Union.

Local people found his body beside the railway track in the West Amirabad area of Amirabad Union around 9:00 am and informed the authorities.

Assistant Station Master of Lohagara Railway Station Didarul Islam said that both the Cox's Bazar Express and the Probal Express trains passed through the station this morning, and one of the trains is suspected to have hit the victim.

Police were informed of the incident and necessary steps are being taken, he added.
