MADARIPUR, Jan 13, 2026 (BSS) - Two persons were killed in a road accident in Tantibaria area on the Dhaka-Barishal highway in Sadar upazila of the district today.

Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam Azad of Madaripur Sadar Police station said the accident occurred when a covered van hit a locally-made vehicle van, leaving two passengers of the van killed on the spot and injured others.

Locals rescued the injured and sent them to local hospital.

However, the killer covered van driver managed to flee the scene.

The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained yet, the OC said.
