BOGURA, Jan 19, 2026 (BSS) - A doa mahfil was organized in the district today marking the 90th birth anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

The doa mahfil took place at Baitur Rahman Central Mosque after Asr prayers, with participation from party leaders, workers, and ordinary citizens. The programmme was arranged by the Bogura district unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

During the doa mahfil, special prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the soul of President Ziaur Rahman, as well as for the welfare of the country and the nation. 

Maulana Monowar Hossain, Khatib of Baitur Rahman Central Mosque, led the prayers and munajat. After the religious observances, Tabarak was distributed among the attendees.

Notable participants included BNP Chairperson’s advisor and former Bogura Municipality Mayor Advocate AKM Mahbubur Rahman, former MP Md. 

Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu, District BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha and BNP National Executive Committee members VP Saiful Islam, Kazi Rafiq, Ali Azgar Talukder Hena, and Joynal Abedin Chan attended the doa mahfil. 

Other attendees included District BNP Vice President MR Islam Swadhin, Organizing Secretary Shahid Un Nabi Salam, KM Khairul Bashar, former District Jubo Dal convener Khademul Islam Khadem, Jubo Dal President Ahsan Habib Momi, District Chhatra Dal President Habibur Rashid Sandhan Sarkar, and several other local leaders and members of the party and its affiliate organizations.
