Restaurant sealed off for using industrial dyes in food in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 21, 2026 (BSS) – The National Consumer Rights Protection Department today sealed off the ‘Haji Kachchi Ghar’ restaurant in the Chandgaon area for using industrial dyes in food.

During the operation in the Chandgaon area, ‘Doha Food’ was fined Tk 15,000 for selling date-expired cakes and rasmalai, while ‘Khaja Store’ was fined Tk 5,000 for selling gas cylinders and date-expired bread at excessive prices.

Deputy Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department in Chattogram Mohammad Faiz Ullah said banned chemicals and harmful industrial dyes were found being used in cooking at Haji Kachchi Ghar.
Following this, the mobile court sealed off the restaurant.

The National Consumer Rights Protection Department said such drives would continue in the public interest.
