Motorcyclist dies in Bogura road accident

BOGURA, Jan 20, 2026 (BSS) - A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident in the Shajbari area of Bogura district yesterday evening.

The deceased was identified as Fanos Mia, 55, son of Anwar Hossain Montu of Dhakandia Pukurpara village under Shajahanpur upazila.

The accident occurred in front of Fatema Filling Station on the Bogura second bypass road.

Eyewitnesses said a fuel carrying trolley was entering the bypass road from Fatema Filling Station when a speeding motorcycle hit it immediately the rider lost control. 

At that moment, an ambulance coming from behind ran over Fanos Mia and dragged him several yards, killing him instantly.


Following the accident, locals detained the ambulance and the motorcycle and handed them over to Naruli police outpost.

Officer-in-Charge of Naruli police outpost SI Masud Karim confirmed the incident.

He said the ambulance and motorcycle are now in police custody.
