KHULNA, Jan 20, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Central Information Affairs Secretary and Khulna-4 party candidate Azizul Bari Helal today said sustainable development is impossible without humane development, stressing that infrastructure alone cannot ensure progress.

He made the remarks while addressing a doa mahfil and civic gathering in Rupsa Upazila, organised by local civil society to pray for the departed soul of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

Helal pledged that a BNP government (if elected) would support all religious leaders, promote moral and religious education, create sports facilities to keep youth away from drugs, dredge 20,000 km of canals and expand vocational training centres to ensure employment.

He warned that criminals and extortionists would have no place in his party and urged authorities to take strict action against any such matters.

The programme was chaired by former Sreefoltola Union Parishad chairman Alhaj Abdul Majid, with other local dignitaries also present.
