Six candidates withdraw nomination papers in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, Jan 20, 2026 (BSS) - Six candidates from three of the four parliamentary constituencies in Bagerhat withdrew their nomination papers on the final day of withdrawal for the 13th national parliamentary election.

In Bagerhat-1 (Chitalmari-Mollahat-Fakirhat), Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Amir Maulana Md Mominul Haque withdrew his nomination.

Three candidates withdrew from Bagerhat-2 (Bagerhat Sadar and Kachua) constituency. They are Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis candidate Ramiz Uddin, Khelafat Majlis candidate Bali Naser Iqbal, and Bagerhat district BNP coordinator and former president MA Salam.

In Bagerhat-3 (Rampal-Mongla), Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis candidate Md Zulfikar Hossain and Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) candidate Md Rahmatullah withdrew their nomination papers. No candidate withdrew from Bagerhat-4 (Morelganj-Sharankhola), where six valid candidates remain in the race.

Bagerhat District Election Officer Muhammad Abu Ansar told BSS that a total of 23 valid candidates are contesting in the four parliamentary constituencies of the district.
