RAB arrests main accused in sensational rape case in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 has arrested the main accused in a sensational rape case in Palash upazila of the district.

The arrested man was identified as Md. Abu Kalam, 50, son of Fajr Ali of the Chakshal area under Madhabdi Police Station. He was apprehended from the Ghorashal Bridge area of Palash upazila on Tuesday night (February 3).

The information was confirmed in a press release issued on Wednesday (February 4), signed by Md. Ariful Islam, Camp Commander of RAB-11, CPSC, Narsingdi.

According to RAB, the incident occurred on Sunday (February 1) around 3:30 pm when 11-year-old daughter of the complainant went to play in a crop field beside their house in the Barab area of Jinardi union under Palash upazila.

RAB said the accused forcibly took the girl to a nearby garden and raped her. Hearing the victim’s screams, her relatives rushed to the scene, prompting the accused to flee.

The victim was rescued by her family members and admitted to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for medical treatment. Later, her father filed a case with Palash Police Station in connection with the incident.

RAB Camp Commander and Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Ariful Islam said the arrested accused has been handed over to Palash Police Station for further legal proceedings.
