DHAKA, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS) -  Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, said everyone should work together to build a state based on equality, knowledge and the dignity of labor.

“Today, a new dawn of pride stands before us. We believe, we before me, the country before us, the people before power; Bangladesh above all. Therefore, to build a state founded on equality, knowledge and the dignity of labor, we must all work together,” she said.

Dr Zubaida Rahman was speaking at a views-exchange meeting organized by the Professionals’ Wing of the BNP Election Management Committee at the Hatirjheel Amphitheatre in the city this afternoon. People from various professions and walks of life took part in the meeting.

Referring to the voices of people from different professions at the meeting, Zubaida Rahman said she listened to the heart-rending problems of three women from the Korail Sat Tala area, two garment workers and a transport worker. She noted that these problems reflect the real-life struggles of ordinary people.

Stressing that ensuring equality and equal opportunities for all, above all differences, is BNP’s goal, she said, “BNP believes in equal opportunities for all, the dignity of labor and the proper evaluation of merit. Merit-based employment, fair rights and the establishment of justice before exploitation are our objectives.”

Calling upon everyone to remain united, Dr. Zubaida Rahman said, “All of us have various kinds of problems. However, effective solutions to these problems are possible only through proper planning and collective efforts.”

Coordinator of the Dhaka-17 Election Management Committee and Adviser to the BNP Chairman Prof Forhad Halim Doner presided over the event while BNP National Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan and Chief Coordinator of the Dhaka-17 Election Management Committee and Adviser to the Chairperson, Bir Muktijoddha Abdus Salam, among others, spoke in the event.
