Aminul announces launch of 'Notun Kuri Sports'

SAVAR, April 5, 2026 (BSS) - To expand sports at the grassroots level across Bangladesh, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the 'Notun Kuri Sports' programme simultaneously in 64 districts from Sylhet on April 30, State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque said.

He made the announcement this afternoon after visiting the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) in Ashulia, Savar.

The minister added that, in the initial phase, 500 athletes representing Bangladesh internationally and earning national recognition will be brought under a structured salary system. 

So far, 129 athletes have already received sports cards as part of the programme inaugurated by the Prime Minister, he added.

Over time, all distinguished athletes in the country will be included in the salary system and provided sports allowances, he said.

During the visit, BKSP Director General Brigadier General Mohammad Saif Ullah welcomed the State Minister.
