Govt provides Tk 1 lakh financial aid to workers injured in Keraniganj fire

DHAKA, April 5, 2026 (BSS) - To ensure proper treatment for workers injured in the recent fire in Kadamtoli, Keraniganj and to support their families, Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury provided special financial assistance.

The minister handed over cheques of Taka one lakh each to the injured workers receiving treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital today.

The emergency assistance was provided from the fund of the Bangladesh Workers' Welfare Foundation under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. 

Initially, cheques were handed to the families of the affected workers Md Ashif and Md Jisan.

While distributing the cheques, Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury said the government, under the direction of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, always stands by the working people. 

He expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, assuring that the government will continue providing all possible support to the affected families.
