42,710 litres of fuel seized in 24 hours through mobile courts

DHAKA, April 5, 2026 (BSS) – A total of 42,710 litres of fuel were seized during nationwide drives conducted to curb illegal hoarding and ensure a stable fuel supply.

The information was disclosed today in a press release issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

According to the release, 333 mobile courts were operated across the country in the last 24 hours. During the drives, 41,700 litres of diesel and 1,010 litres of petrol were recovered.

Additionally, 107 cases were filed, and two individuals were sentenced to 14 days in prison. The operations also led to the collection of fines amounting to Tk 4,34,650.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division stated that such drives will continue to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply and prevent irregularities.
