Fire guts 7 shops in Fatikchhari

CHATTOGRAM, Feb, 9, 2026 (BSS)- A fire broke out at Narayanhat Bazar in 
Fatikchhari upazila here, gutting at least seven shops around 2 am on Monday. 

It was suspected that the fire originated from an electric short-circuit and 
was soon engulfed.

Local Upazila Parishad (UP) member Tarek Bin Salam Tipu claimed that the fire 
caused damage worth Taka 10 lakh.

Being informed, a fire service team promptly responded to the incident and is 
currently working to control the blaze, the Fatikchhari Fire Station Officer 
Monir said.

Rescue and extinguishing efforts are ongoing. Further details will be 
provided later.
