DINAJPUR, Feb 19, 2026 (BSS) – The Dinajpur district administration has launched a Ramadan relief initiative offering beef, chicken and eggs at subsidised prices in Dinajpur to ease pressure on consumers.

Deputy Commissioner Md. Bafiqul Islam today inaugurated the programme.

The initiative, undertaken in line with directives from the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, is designed to stabilise market prices and ensure affordable access to protein for low-and-middle-income families during the holy month.

Two sales points have been set up in the town, in front of the deputy commissioner’s office and at Kalitala New Market where the items will be available throughout Ramadan.

Beef is being sold at Tk 650 per kg, Pakistani chicken at Tk 275 per kg and eggs at Tk 8 each. To ensure wider access, each buyer can purchase a maximum of 2 kg of beef, two chickens and 12 eggs.
