DINAJPUR, March 6, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has reinforced security measures along the Dinajpur border to prevent the smuggling of fuel to India.

As part of the move, patrol activities have been intensified across the border areas while surveillance has also been strengthened.

Confirming the matter today, Dinajpur BGB Sector Commander Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hasan Khan said special directives have been issued from the BGB headquarters to prevent fuel smuggling.

Following the directives, BGB has increased patrol operations along nearly 140 kilometres of border areas in Dinajpur District.

At the same time, intelligence surveillance has been reinforced at important points along the border, he added.

The sector commander said BGB remains on maximum alert to ensure that fuel cannot be smuggled across the border under any circumstances.

BGB sources said strict vigilance will be maintained along the frontier to protect the country's fuel resources, and legal action will be taken against those involved in smuggling.
