
DHAKA, March 6, 2026 (BSS) - Abahani Limited made winning start as they beat old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 4-1 goals in the second phase of Bangladesh Football League (BFL) that has begun at Bashundhara Kings arena today.
In the day’s match, Brazilian midfielder Bruno Matos put Abahani ahead in the 21st minute from a spot kick while Nigerian forward Emeka Ogbugh doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 29th minute of the match.
After the breather, Bruno Matos scored his second and third goal for Abahani in the 53rd minute while forward Mohamed Munna pulled one back for Rahmatganj in the 67th minute of the match.
Midfielder Syed Shah Quazem Kirmane sealed the victory scoring the fourth goal for Abahani Limited in the 73rd minute of the match.
Gambian forward Soloman King reduced the margin scoring a lone goal for Rahmatganj in the 90+4th minute of the match.
The day’s win saw, the traditional sky blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani Limited raise their tally to 16 points from ten matches while Rahmatganj remained with their previous collection of 15 points playing the same number of matches.
