NAOGAON, March 7, 2026 (BSS) - A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a passenger bus in Mahadevpur upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Tanmoy Hossain, 23, son of Shahadat Hossain Jonaki of Manikpur village under Akkelpur Police Station in Joypurhat district.

The accident occurred around 9.30 am in front of Wahab Rice Mill on the eastern side of the Chowmashia (Noahata) intersection along the Naogaon-Rajshahi highway.

Tanmoy left home on his motorcycle for work as usual in the morning. At that time, a passenger bus of BR Paribahan coming from Naogaon hit his motorcycle, throwing him onto the road. He died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mahadevpur Police Station Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter and said police recovered the body. The body will be handed over to the family following completion of legal procedures.

Police said preparations are underway to file a case in connection with the incident.
