BGB seizes large quantity of Indian clothes in Kurigram

KURIGRAM, March 7, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a special 
operation seized a large quantity of Indian clothes, specifically pant pieces 
worth about Taka 15 lakh in Majhipara Ghat area of Jatrapur union in Sadar 
upazila here on Saturday morning.

On a tip off, a team of BGB-22 Battalion conducted a drive in the area around 
7:30 am and seized 1,000 pant pieces that were hidden and intended for 
illegal transport across the border.

The smugglers managed to escape the scene before the BGB team arrived.

Kurigram Battalion (22 BGB) Commander Mohammad Mahbub ul Haque said "BGB is 
committed to maintaining the highest level of vigilance, professionalism, and 
efficiency to prevent smuggling activities along the border. This successful 
operation highlights our determination to combat such illegal activities, and 
we will continue our efforts to ensure the security of our borders."

The similar operations will continue in the future to strengthen border 
security and deter smuggling in the region.
