CHATTOGRAM, Mar 07, 2026 (BSS)- National Consumer Rights Protection Department fined the prestigious shop 'Rajasthan Punjabi' Taka one lakh for selling locally made Punjabis with misleading tags of 'Bangladesh' and 'Made in India' in Chattogram. 

The owner was fined today after a raid revealed the discrepancies in pricing and labeling. The shop was found selling locally made products as if they were imported from India without proper documentation.
 
 
During a recent raid, discrepancies were found in the price of 'Rajasthan Punjabi'. They were fined Taka one lakh for these irregularities. 

Faiz Ullah, the Deputy Director of the Chattogram Divisional Office of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department stated that two different tags -Indian and Bangladeshi- were found on the same Punjabi in Rajasthan during the raid.
 
It was revealed that products made in Bangladesh were being sold at inflated prices by falsely claiming them to be Indian. 

The establishment was also warned against engaging in such deceptive practices in the future.
