RAJSHAHI, Mar 13, 2026 (BSS)- Out of 21 posts in the Rajshahi Advocate Bar Association election, including President and General Secretary, the panel of the Jatiyatabadi Ainajibi Oikya Parishad won 20 posts.
In the election, Alhaj Abul Kashem was elected President and Parvez Toufiq Zahedi was elected General Secretary from the panel nominated by the Jatiyatabadi Ainajibi Oikya Parishad.
However, AKM Mizanur Rahman from the Ganatantrik Ainajibi Samiti panel was elected Vice-President.
According to the Election Commission, the other elected candidates from the Jatiyatabadi Ainajibi Oikya Parishad panel are: Mahabubul Islam and Mozijul Haque as Vice-Presidents; Imtiar Masrur Al Amin as Joint General Secretary (General); Nur-e-Kamruzzaman Iran as Joint General Secretary (Welfare); Shakhawat Hossain Shamim as Treasurer; Selim Reza Masum as Library Secretary; Tanvir Ahmed Julet as Audit Secretary; Shahjamal as Press and Information Secretary; and Janiz Fatema Kajol as Magazine and Culture Secretary.
Nine members elected to the executive committee are: Yasin Ali, Shamim Ahmed, Mainur Rahman, Hafizul Islam, Zakir Hossain (2), Shaheen Alam Mahmud, Reshma Khatun, Humayun Kabir Shammi, and Rahima Khatun.
Sheikh Md. Jahangir Alam Selim served as the Election Commissioner, while the other two members of the Election Commission were ANM Kamruzzaman Bokul and Shamim Haidar Dara.
After the voting ended, the ballots were counted and the unofficial results were announced last night.
